Diagnosis: This patient stated that she never wanted to smile or laugh. The color and shape of her teeth were poor and she had a narrow arch with a cross bite on the right side. She also had a reverse smile line (the back teeth were longer than the front), and too much gum tissue was exposed on the posterior teeth when she smiled.
Treatment: The patients arch was widened and the cross bite was changed. The posterior teeth were raised to eliminate the reverse smile. The posterior gum tissue was raised with periodontal contouring.
This was extreme makeover smile case. The patient’s teeth were restored with porcelain crowns and veneers. Following treatment, the patient stated,
“You gave me a beautiful smile. Now I can be again the funny and happy person that I am, and show my happiness and smile everyday.”
